TRAVEL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION

Travel basketball is a more competitive program and does require a greater commitment from both the players and the parents.  Practices will take place in the evenings usually two times per week with tournaments being played about every other weekend. The majority of the tournaments will be within the area, with the exception of one overnight tournament.  In addition to the travel fee, which covers the tournament registration fees and gym use, there are other financial considerations such as admission fees for spectators, travel to and from tournaments, meals and concessions to take into account.  Also, please note that parents of all travel players are expected to volunteer time during our Elk River Tournament which will be held in January.

TRYOUTS

Teams will range in size from 9-10 players.  All girls who are interested in playing travel basketball must attend both tryout sessions for your grade level. Tryouts consist of a series of drills and game type situations and are conducted by independent evaluators. Dates and times for tryouts will be posted on our website. Please note that players who attend tryouts may or may not make a travel team. Teams will be selected following tryouts with the season officially starting October.

REGISTRATION

If you are interested in trying out for a travel team, please complete the registration form which can be found on this website.  Payment is required prior to trying out for a team.  We ask that you make full payment with your registration form. We encourage you to register early so that we can adequately prepare for tryouts. Girls who are in 5^th & 6^th grade must also register for in-house basketball.  Please make full payment for in-house basketball at the time of that registration.  This will require 2 separate checks for these registrations.  Should your daughter be placed on a travel team your in-house registration fee will be returned. In the event that your daughter does not get placed on a travel team, your travel registration fee will be returned to you.
